LYNCHBURG, Va. - The Emory & Henry women's team (2-5, 0-2 ODAC) traveled to Randolph College (4-3, 2-2 ODAC) for the second leg of a three-game, three day road trip. The match, however, was not fortuitous for the Wasps. The Wildcats defeated Emory & Henry, 8-1, on the day.
Doubles
- Katie Meade (Coeburn, Va.) and Kaitlyn Sheaves (Staunton, Va.) took an 8-2 loss at one doubles.
- Bri Pierce (Purlear, N.C.) and Tessa Johnston (High Point, N.C.) were downed 8-1 at two doubles.
- Three doubles was able to pick up three wins, but ultimately fell, 8-3.
Singles
- One and three singles were shut out, 6-0, 6-0, on the day.
- Kala Curtis (Locust Grove, Va.) lost, 6-1, 6-0.
- Pierce was the only Wasp to earn a victory on the day. Her opponent took her to three sets, but Pierce vanquished her counterpart, 6-2, 1-6, 10-8, at five singles.
- Four and five singles also were defeated on the day.
Next Match
Emory & Henry will travel to Roanoke College tomorrow for another ODAC matchup. The match will start at noon.
