Randolph-Macon Picks Up 9-0 Shutouts Over Men's and Women's Tennis Teams, Sunday Afternoon
EMORY, Va. - It was a tough outing for the men's (1-11, 0-6 ODAC) and women's (3-8, 0-5 ODAC) tennis teams. Both squads hosted ODAC rival, Randolph-Macon on Sunday Afternoon. The Yellow Jackets shut out the Wasps, 9-0, on both sides.

Men's Doubles

The number one and three duos took tough, 8-1, losses. Two doubles, went down, 8-0.

Women's Doubles

The top two seeds for the women lost by the same score, which was 8-1. Kala Curtis (Locust Grove, Va.) and Kelsey Holt (Staffordsville, Va.) were able to pick up two games, but fell, 8-2.

Men's Singles

Both the one and two seeds struggled to start off singles play. Both lost, 6-0, 6-0. At three singles, senior Liam Davidson (Newport News, Va.) took a 6-0, 6-1 loss. Cooper Garrett (Gate City, Va.) played strong at four singles, but went down, 6-3, 6-4. At five singles, Andrew McClung (Roanoke, Va.) lost 6-0, 6-1, while Taylor Hines (Jonesville, Va.) fell 6-1, 6-0.

Women's Singles

One and two singles wered downed, 6-0, 6-0. Tessa Johnston (High Point, N.C.) was defeated, 6-0, 6-2, at three singles. At four singles, Kaitlyn Sheaves (Staunton, Va.) played her way to a 6-3, 6-4 loss. Five and six singles was lost, 7-5, 6-0, and, 6-3, 6-0, respectively.
