GREENSBORO, N.C. - The Emory & Henry women's team (4-8, 1-5 ODAC) picked up their first ODAC win of the season after a 9-0 shutout over Guilford College (1-10, 0-7 ODAC). The 9-0 win is the Wasps third shutout victory on the season.
Doubles
- Katie Meade (Coeburn, Va.) and Kaitlyn Sheaves (Staunton, Va.) did work at one doubles, defeating their opponents, 8-0.
- Bri Pierce (Purlear, N.C.) and Kala Curtis (Locust Grove, Va.) also dominated their counterparts with an 8-0 win.
- Ellington King (Versailles, Ky.) and Kelsey Holt (Staffordsville, Va.) defeated their opponents, 8-1, on the day.
Singles
- Meade won, 6-0, 6-1, at one singles.
- Tessa Johnston (High Point, N.C.) saw action at the two spot and dominated her way to a 6-2, 6-1 win.
- Pierce won, 6-2, 6-1, at three singles. She now has a team-high and career-high 10 singles wins.
- At four singles, Curtis won, 6-1, 6-0.
- King, at five singles, won, 6-1, 6-1.
- To close out the day, Holt won 8-6 at six singles.
Next Match
The Wasps will play at Bristol Racquet & Fitness Club at 9 a.m. tomorrow as they host Virginia Wesleyan.
