Emory & Henry Women's Tennis Beats Salem, 4-3, Saturday At Home

EMORY, Va. - The Emory & Henry College Women's Tennis Team (4-0) defeated Salem (W.Va.) University (0-1) on Saturday afternoon by a score of 4-3. The match closed out the fall portion of the season for the Wasps.

How It Happened
- The Wasps took the early lead by winning the doubles point. Freshman Natalie Bergmann (Forest Hills, N.Y.) and sophomore Sabina Chernega (Odesa, UKRAINE) teamed up at the No. 2 doubles position for a 6-3 win. Freshman Nina Williams (Fleet, ENGLAND) and junior Molly McMichael (Riner, Va.) clinched the point for E&H with a 6-4 victory at the No. 3 doubles spot.
- Charlton defeated her opponent at No. 3 singles by a 6-2, 6-0 scoreline and Bergmann took the win at No. 5 singles 6-2, 6-2. Sophomore Ann Gray Perdue (Bluefield, Va.) won the decisive match at No. 6 seeded singles 6-1, 6-0 to clinch the victory for the Wasps.
