Emory & Henry Women’s Tennis Drops Two League Matches On Tuesday & Wednesday

EMORY, Va./HICKORY, N.C. - The Emory & Henry College Women's Tennis Team (4-3, 0-3 SAC) dropped South Atlantic Conference matches to Catawba College (2-0, 1-0 SAC) and Lenoir-Rhyne University (6-4, 2-0 SAC) on Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons, respectively. The Lady Catawba Indians and Bears each won by a 6-1 scoreline.

The Catawba Match
- Catawba swept the doubles matches to take an early 1-0 lead.
- Sophomore Sabina Chernega (Odesa, UKRAINE) won her match at No. 1 singles by a 6-1, 1-6, 1-0(10-5) score. 

Wednesday's Basics

The Lenoir-Rhyne Match
- The Bears took all three doubles matches for the 1-0 advantage.
- Freshman Natalie Bergmann (Forest Hills, N.Y.) took down her opponent at No. 5 singles by a score of 8-7(8-6). Millie Turner (Chobham, ENGLAND) put up a tough fight at No. 6 singles, but fell by a 2-6, 4-6 margin.

- Emory & Henry returns home this Friday to take on the Eagles of Ashland University in non-conference action. First serve is scheduled for 11:00 a.m.
