Emory & Henry Women’s Tennis Falls To Catawba And Mount Olive Sunday

SALISBURY, N.C. - The Emory & Henry College Women's Tennis Team (2-6, 0-2 SAC) dropped a pair of matches to Catawba College (5-1, 2-0 SAC) and the University of Mount Olive (3-3) Sunday afternoon. The Wasps fell 7-0 to the Catawba Indians before coming up short by a 4-1 margin to the Trojans.

The Catawba Match
- Catawba swept the doubles matches to take an early 1-0 lead.
- Senior Emma Charlton (Newcastle upon Tyne, ENGLAND) forced a first-set tiebreaker before falling by a 6-7, 0-6 final at No. 2 singles.
- Sophomore Katie Bradley (Auchterarder, SCOTLAND) dropped a 2-6, 2-6 decision at No. 5 singles.

The Mount Olive Match
- The Trojans took the doubles portion of the match to jump ahead 1-0.
- Sophomore Natalie Bergmann (Forest Hills, N.Y.) downed Victoria Calle at No. 3 singles 6-2, 6-2 to get the Wasps on the board.
- Sophomore Nina Williams (Fleet, ENGLAND) won the opening set at No. 4 singles, before coming up short by a 7-5, 1-6, 0-1 (1-10) final.
- Two matches were unfinished due to time constraints.

- Emory & Henry is back in action on Wednesday, March 13 when the Wasps travel to take on Lincoln Memorial University. First serve is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. from Harrogate, Tennessee.
