Emory & Henry Women’s Tennis Faces Radford In Exhibition Wednesday

RADFORD, Va. - The Emory & Henry University Women's Tennis Team faced off against Division I opponent Radford University (2-3) Wednesday, in an exhibition match for the Wasps and a regular season match for the Highlanders. Radford claimed the win by a 7-0 final score.

- The Highlanders won all three doubles matches to claim the doubles point and jump ahead by a 1-0 margin.
- Freshman Tahnne Sesma (Zumaia, SPAIN) fell by a 0-6, 1-6 scoreline to Michaela Stephens at No. 1 singles.
- Freshman Ellyson Kovacs (Bristol, Tenn.) dropped her No. 2 singles match by a 1-6, 0-6 decision to Julia Abrams.
- Lexi Smolder topped junior Nina Williams (Fleet, ENGLAND) by a 2-6, 1-6 margin at the No. 3 singles flight.
- Sophomore Olivia Pursley (Hendersonville, N.C.) was defeated 0-6, 1-6 by Brooke Murphy at No. 4 singles.
- Sophomore Karlie Quinn (Mocksville, N.C.) battled, but eventually fell 4-6, 3-6 to Natalia Reimer at the No. 4 singles position.
- Rachel Ekanem took down sophomore Meghan Moore (Midlothian, Va.) 0-6, 2-6 at No. 6 singles.
