EMORY, Va. - The Emory & Henry University Men's Tennis Team (1-5, 0-3 SAC) and Women's Tennis Team (1-5, 0-3 SAC) fell in South Atlantic Conference play to visiting Newberry College Saturday afternoon. The Wolves took both matches by 4-0 scores.

- The Wolves were victorious at No. 1 and No. 3 doubles to take the doubles point and jump ahead 1-0 early.
- Sophomore Niclas Naedele (Munich, GERMANY) was trailing 3-6 to James Vincent when the match was left unfinished.
- Freshman Leo Knothe (Hanover, GERMANY) fell to David Negzaoui 2-6, 0-6 at No. 2 singles.
- Sophomore Will Bayliss (Totland, Isle of Wight, ENGLAND) was behind 5-7, 1-0 to Daniel Watson at No. 3 singles when the match was unfinished.
- Junior Nathan Spurling (Abingdon, Va.) dropped a 4-6, 0-6 decision to Joshua Fritz at the No. 4 singles spot.
- Senior Alvaro Garcia (Madrid, SPAIN) was defeated 3-6, 2-6 by Senthen Reddy at No. 5 singles.
- Junior Keenan Glago (Harrisonburg, Va.) was down 4-6, 2-5 to Lucas Mruk at No. 6 singles when the match was unfinished.

Women's Match
- Newberry won at No. 1 doubles and No. 3 doubles to earn the early 1-0 advantage.
- Freshman Tahnne Sesma (Zumaia, SPAIN) was defeated by Emma Arnal by a 1-6, 0-6 margin at No. 1 singles.
- Freshman Ellyson Kovacs (Bristol, Tenn.) was behind 2-6, 3-4 to Margarita Roshka at No. 2 singles when the match was unfinished.
- Junior Nina Williams (Fleet, ENGLAND) fell to Lina Sarhan 1-6, 3-6 at the No. 3 singles position.
- Sophomore Olivia Pursley (Hendersonville, N.C.) trailed Alexa Gamborino 1-6, 2-5 at No. 4 singles.
- Sophomore Karlie Quinn (Mocksville, N.C,.) was bested by Renee Dorval 1-6, 3-6 at No. 5 singles.
- Sophomore Meghan Moore (Midlothian, Va.) was down 0-6, 0-5 to Aina Miralles when the match was left unfinished.
