HIGH POINT, N.C. – The Emory & Henry College Men's & Women's Track & Field Teams got their outdoor seasons started over the weekend at the VertKlasse Meeting, hosted by High Point University. The Wasps saw four men's records and two women's program marks fall during the meet.

The Men
Junior Markell Moss (Wytheville, Va.) gave E&H its best finish of the day, taking fifth in the 110-meter hurdles (:16.44). Junior Trel Phillips (Ooltewah, Tenn.) broke the school record in the shot put with a throw of 13.58 meters. Freshman Jay Kreimes (Sharps, Va.) set new Emory & Henry bests in the 100 meters (:11.58) and the 200 meters (:23.22) while sophomore Conor White (Warrenton, Va.) posted a new program mark of 2:02.70 in the 800 meters.
The Women
Friday night in the 5,000 meters, junior Erica Grupp (Charlottesville, Va.) ran a 20:24.38 to go nearly one minute faster than the previous school record. On Saturday, freshman Maria Hatch (Emory, Va.) set an E&H mark in the 800 meters (2:42.59).
