Emory & Henry Track & Field Breaks Four Records At The ETSU Invitational Over The Weekend

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. – The Emory & Henry College Track & Field Teams saw their first indoor action since March of 2020 over the weekend, competing at the ETSU Invitational.

Both the men's and women's teams saw two school records fall on the afternoon including a complete re-writing of the program best times in the 400 meters.

Top Men's Performances
- Freshman Jarrell Harrison (Virginia Beach, Va.) set a new program best in the 60 meters of :07.12, finishing 20th. Freshman Bryce Cobler (Meadowview, Va.) also came in under the previous E&H record.
- In the 400 meters, freshman Zederick Yeboah (Fredericksburg, Va.) carved more than five seconds off the school record with a time of :53.66 as he finished 28th overall. Junior Colby Martin's (Fork Union, Va.) had a record performance in his own right in the event.
- Freshman Zavery Wallace (Buena Vista, Va.) was fifth in the shot put (13.55m) and ninth in the weight throw (13.32m) while freshman Gavin Lee (North Tazewell, Va.) also cracked the top 10 in the shot put at 12.76 meters (seventh).

Women's Top Performances
- Freshman Michelle Diaz (Woodbridge, Va.) set a pair of school records on the day running a :29.33 in the 200 meters and a 1:08.97 in the 400 meters, finishing 40th and 21st, respectively. Freshman Chloe Jones (Harrison, Tenn.) also finished faster than the Emory & Henry best time in the 400, taking 23rd.
- Freshman Avery Word (Fincastle, Va.) posted top-20 marks in the throws. She was 16th in the weight throw at 9.07 meters and took 17th in shot put (8.85m).
