Emory & Henry Women’s Track & Field Finishes Fourth At EMU Track & Field Classic

HARRISONBURG, Va. – The Emory & Henry College Track & Field Teams put up another strong showing in the outdoor season on Friday. The men's team finished in third place as they broke three school records, earned five event wins and put together 11 top-five finishes. The women's squad also saw three records fall and had five top-five performances.

Top Men's Performances
- Freshman Hayden Oglesby (Virginia Beach, Va.) broke the E&H record in the 400 meters with an event-winning time of :51.21. He also set a new school-best time in the 200 meters at :23.17 as he finished sixth.
- Freshman Zadok Laryea (Ruther Glen, Va.) won the long jump with a mark of 5.59 meters and posted a triple jump performance of 12.86 meters to get his second win of the day. He was also fourth in the shot put (12.14m).
- Feshman Zedrick Yeboah (Fredericksburg, Va.) was the runner-up in the 400 meters (:51.88) as freshman Matthew Klapak (Zion Crossroads, Va.) was fourth in the 5,000 meters at 16:42.19.
- In the shot put, freshman Zavery Wallace (Buena Vista, Va.) earned the win at 13.57 meters and was second in the discus (38.56m).
- Freshman Gavin Lee (North Tazewell, Va.) won the discus with a throw of 43.40 meters and was fourth in the javelin with a record-mark of 32.64 meters. He also turned in a performance of 12.36 in the shot put to take third.

Women's Top Performances
- Freshman Michelle Diaz (Woodbridge, Va.) set a pair of school records in the 200 meters (:27.35) and the 400 meters (1:03.91) as she finished as the runner-up in both events.
- Sophomore Annalyse McHone (Shawsville, Va.) ran a 5:22.12 to topple the E&H best in the 5,000 meters, finishing third.
- Freshman Avery Word (Fincastle, Va.) was second in the shot put with a mark of 10.00 meters and was third in the discus at 25.70 meters.

- Emory & Henry will return to action on Saturday, April 9 at the WildCat Track Festival, hosted by Randolph College.
