
SALEM, Va. – The Emory & Henry University Indoor Track & Field Teams kept the season rolling on Saturday at the Joe LaRocco Invitational, hosted by Roanoke College. The Wasps broke six records on the day and tied another program-best mark.

Top Men's Performances
- Sophomore Drew Craft (Covington, Va.) picked up a pair of individual wins, breaking the school record in the long jump with a leap of 6.76 meters. He also won the triple jump at 13.95 meters and was seventh in the high jump with a height of 1.79 meters.
- Junior Zavery Wallace (Buena Vista, Va.) broke his own record in the weight throw with a toss of 17.55 meters to win the event while junior Gavin Lee (North Tazewell, Va.) was second at 17.25 meters. Wallace also finished fifth in the shot put (14.02m).
- Sophomore Will Humphrey, II (Charlotte, N.C.) claimed runner-up honors in the 60 meters, crossing the line in 6.88 seconds. In the 200 meters, sophomore Joshua Black (Woodbridge, Va.) was eighth, tying the E&H record at 22.91 seconds while Humphrey placed ninth. Sophomore Nour Nabi (Lake Ridge, Va.) was third in the 60 meter hurdles at 8.75 seconds.
- In the mile, freshman Hayden Pugh (Louisa, Va.) posted a new school-best time of 4:29.43 while sophomore Cody Pecina (Hayter's Gap, Va.) and junior Samuel Tindall (Fort Defiance, Va.) were ninth and 10th in the 800 meters respectively. Sophomore Barlowe Branch, III (Petersburg, Va.) took fourth in the 400 meters.
- The 4x400 meter relay consisting of sophomore Hillis Roberson, IV (Rosenburg, Texas), Pugh, sophomore T.J. Pecina (Hayter's Gap, Va.) and sophomore Gavin Kegler (Woodbridge, Va.) ran a 3:29.06 to finish third.
Women's Top Performances
- Freshman Mia Spangler (Floyd, Va.) tallied a fourth-place finish in the long jump with a school-record mark of 5.20 meters and was 10th in the triple jump at 10.22 meters. Junior Alyssa Chappell (Church Hill, Tenn.) established the record in the high jump, leaping 1.43 meters to take sixth.
- Freshman Aiyana Blakey (Woodbridge, Va.) placed ninth in the 200 meters with a school record time of 27.57 seconds and was 10th in the 60 meters, clocking an :08.26.
- Sophomore Maddy Fiscus (Crockett, Va.) finished the 5,000 meters in 10th place with a time of 21:45.93.
