
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Emory & Henry University Indoor Track & Field Teams continued their assault on the record book on Saturday at the JDL Last Chance Invitational. The Wasps saw nine records fall on the day, five on the men's side and four on the women's as they posted four event wins and 15 top-five performances.

Top Men's Performances
- Junior Gavin Lee (North Tazewell, Va.) won the weight throw with a school-record and SAC-leading mark of 17.94 meters while junior Zavery Wallace (Buena Vista, Va.) was second and freshman Malik Guadelupe (Woodbridge, Va.) was eighth. Wallace also finished third in the shot at 14.67 meters.
- Sophomore Drew Craft (Covington, Va.) broke his own record in the triple jump with a leap of 14.33 meters to win the event and was third in the long jump. Sophomore Joseph Ihlenburg (Roanoke, Va.) placed second in the long jump (6.69m) and third in the high jump (1.75m) with sophomore Nour Nabi (Lake Ridge, Va.) taking fourth in the high.
- Sophomore Will Humphrey, II (Charlotte, N.C.) won the 60 meters in 6.90 seconds and was sixth in the 200 meters. Sophomore Barlowe Branch, III (Petersburg, Va.) took fourth in the 200 in a school-record time of 22.84 seconds and was fifth in the 400. Sophomore Joshua Black (Woodbridge, Va.) was seventh in the 60 meter hurdles at 9.03 seconds and placed ninth in the 200.
- Sophomore Kaleb Elswick (Big Rock, Va.) broke the E&H record in the mile with a time of 4:27.20 to finish 10th while junior Miles Baldwin (Willis, Va.) was 10th in the 3,000 meters in a record-8:56.59. Junior Justin Owens (Grundy, Va.) placed eighth in the mile.
- Senior Aaron Wilson (Chester, Va.) was fourth in the 400 meters at :51.02 with freshman Hayden Pugh (Louisa, Va.) finishing third in the 800 meters (1:57.28). Sophomores Hillis Roberson, IV (Rosenburg, Texas), Gavin Kegler (Woodbridge, Va.) and Cody Pecina (Hayter's Gap, Va.) were fifth, seventh and 10th in the 800, respectively.
Women's Top Performances
- Junior Delaney Eller (Salem, Va.) won the 3,000 meters in 10:01.69, scorching her previous record by more than 10 seconds.
- Freshman Aiyana Blakey (Woodbridge, Va.) broke records in both the 60 meters and 200 meters, taking 12th in the 60 (:08.18) and eighth in the 200 (:27.24). She added another top-10 finish on the day, going a 1:05.65 in the 400 meters to place ninth. Freshman Tess Somervell (Chilhowie, Va.) was also 10th in the 800.
- In the high jump, junior Alyssa Chappell (Church Hill, Tenn.) broke her own record with a mark of 1.50 meters to finish seventh.
- Junior Catie Leonard (Gray, Tenn.) was seventh in the weight throw at 9.88 meters while junior Taylorann Cash (Buena Vista, Va.) took seventh in the shot put (9.77m).
