
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Emory & Henry University Men's & Women's Indoor Track & Field Teams got the South Atlantic Conference Championships started on Saturday. The men's squad is currently in fifth place while the women are ninth. The Wasps also saw four men's school records fall over the course of the day.

The Men
- Mile Preliminaries – Junior Miles Baldwin (Willis, Va.) posted a 4:27.80 to finish 12th while sophomore Davis Norman (Salem, Va.) was 14th, junior Samuel Tindall (Fort Defiance, Va.) placed 18th and sophomore Kaleb Elswick (Big Rock, Va.) was 20th.
- 400 Meter Preliminaries – Sophomore Barlowe Branch, III (Petersburg, Va.) placed 13th with a time of 51.52 seconds.
- 60 Meter Preliminaries – Sophomore Will Humphrey, II (Charlotte, N.C.) turned in a time of 6.91 seconds to finish 10th.
- 800 Meter Preliminaries – Sophomore Gavin Kegler (Woodbridge, Va.) was 15th, running a 1:59.97. Freshman Hayden Pugh (Louisa, Va.) placed 16th, sophomore Hillis Roberson, IV (Rosenburg, Texas) was 18th, sophomore Cody Pecina (Hayter's Gap, Va.) was 19th and sophomore T.J. Pecina (Hayter's Gap, Va.) was 24th.
- 60 Meter Hurdles Preliminaries – Sophomore Nour Nabi (Lake Ridge, Va.) got the last qualifying spot for the finals, finishing third in his heat with a school-record time of :08.68. Sophomore Joshua Black (Woodbridge, Va.) was 14th.
- 200 Meter Preliminaries – Humphrey was 16th, running a 22.93 seconds with Branch just behind in 17th while Black placed 29th.
- 5,000 Meters – Sophomore Justin Owens (Grundy, Va.) finished in 20th place at 15:48.21. Sophomore Aidan Trautman (Centreville, Md.) was 21st, senior Matthew Klapak (Zion Crossroads, Va.) was 22nd and junior Tommy Henzey, IV (Salem, Va.) was 24th.
- Distance Medley Relay – Tindall, senior Aaron Wilson (Chester, Va.), Kegler and Norman took fifth place with a school-record performance of 10:39.64.
- Weight Throw – Junior Zavery Wallace (Buena Vista, Va.) placed second with a throw of 17.58 meters, finishing just .01 meters out of first place while junior Gavin Lee (North Tazewell, Va.) earned a third-place finish at 17.47 meters. Freshman Malik Guadelupe (Woodbridge, Va.) was 18th.
- Long Jump – Sophomore Drew Craft (Covington, Va.) was eighth, leaping 6.64 meters while sophomore Joseph Ihlenburg (Roanoke, Va.) placed 22nd.
- Heptathlon – Nabi in ninth place following four events. He notched school-record marks for the heptathlon in the long jump (5.75m) and the high jump (1.78m) while also posting a time of 7.38 seconds in the 60 meters.
The Women
- Mile Preliminaries – Junior Delaney Eller (Salem, Va.) ran a 5:12.79 to finish second in her heat and qualify for Sunday's finals.
- 800 Meter Preliminaries – Freshman Tess Somervell (Chilhowie, Va.) finished 12th with a time of 2:28.20. Sophomores McKenzie Tate (Wytheville, Va.), Kennedy Harris (Mineral, Va.) and Maya Turner (Midland, Va.) took the 13th through 15th places.
- 5,000 Meters – Sophomore Elise McKinney (Church Hill, Tenn.) ran a 19:58.24 to finish 20th as sophomore Maddy Fiscus (Crockett, Va.) was 22nd and sophomore Hannah Rosen (Falls Church, Va.) was 24th.
- Distance Medley Relay – The group of Harris, Turner, Somervell and Tate ran a 13:21.50, placing seventh.
- Long Jump – Freshman Mia Spangler (Floyd, Va.) tied for 15th with a jump of 5.15 meters.
- Weight Throw – Junior Catie Leonard (Gray, Tenn.) had a mark of 9.88 meters to place 25th.
