Emory & Henry Women’s Track & Field Takes Fifth At Livingstone Blue Bear Invitational

SALISBURY, N.C. – The Emory & Henry University Outdoor Track & Field Teams continued the season at the Livingstone Blue Bear Invitational on Friday. The men's team finished fourth, breaking three records and tying a fourth while the women's squad was fourth overall with four school records.

Top Men's Performances
- Sophomore Drew Craft (Covington, Va.) broke the E&H record in the triple jump at 14.19 meters to finish third. He also tied the program's top mark in the high jump (1.85m) to place fifth and was ninth in the long jump (6.55m).
- Sophomore Gavin Kegler (Woodbridge, Va.) was the runner-up in the 800 meters, running a 1:57.67 with junior Samuel Tindall (Fort Defiance, Va.) in third and senior Aaron Wilson (Chester, Va.) in seventh. Sophomore Will Humphrey, II (Charlotte, N.C.) took ninth in the 100 meters at 10.93 seconds.
- In the 1,500 meters, junior Miles Baldwin (Willis, Va.) placed fourth with a time of 4:08.93 while sophomore Davis Norman (Salem, Va.) was fifth, sophomore Aidan Trautman (Centreville, Md.) was sixth and senior Matthew Klapak (Zion Crossroads, Va.) notched ninth.
- Junior Zavery Wallace (Buena Vista, Va.) placed fifth in the shot put at 14.18 meters while senior Colby Davenport (Loves Mill, Va.) was 10th in the javelin at 38.63 meters.
- In the hurdles, sophomore Barlowe Branch, III (Petersburg, Va.) broke the school record in the 400-meter with a fifth-place time of 55.55 seconds while sophomore Nour Nabi (Lake Ridge, Va.) was sixth in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 15.73 seconds.
- E&H got a school record in the 4x100 meter relay as senior Willie Williams (Manassas, Va.), Humphrey, Branch and sophomore Joshua Black (Woodbridge, Va.) placed eighth in :42.91. The 4x400 meter relay of Kegler, sophomore Cody Pecina (Hayter's Gap, Va.), sophomore T.J. Pecina (Hayter's Gap, Va.) and Wilson were sixth in 3:29.10.

Women's Top Performances
- Junior Delaney Eller (Salem, Va.) won the 1,500 meters in school-record time, posting a 4:45.17 while sophomore Maddy Fiscus (Crockett, Va.) was third.
- Sophomore Kennedy Harris (Mineral, Va.) claimed third in the 800 meters with a new E&H-best of 2:26.93 while freshman Tess Somervell (Chilhowie, Va.) was seventh and sophomore Maya Turner (Midland, Va.) was ninth.
- In the 5,000 meters, junior Elise McKinney (Church Hill, Tenn.) was the runner up at 20:26.29 while sophomore Hannah Rosen (Falls Church, Va.) was third.
- Freshman Mia Spangler (Floyd, Va.) broke her own record in the long jump with a leap of 5.10 meters to place ninth and was 10th in the triple jump at 10.13 meters. The high jump saw senior Hope Christensen (Moroni, Utah) and junior Alyssa Chappell (Church Hill, Tenn.) tie for fourth place at 1.45 meters.
- Junior Madison Ricketts (Kingsport, Tenn.) was third in the 400 meter hurdles at 1:09.54 with freshman Abby Harris (Powell, Tenn.) placing seventh.
- The 4x100 meter relay of freshman Aiyana Blakey (Woodbridge, Va.), freshman Kai Thomas (Dumfries, Va.), Ricketts and Spangler ran a :50.14 to take seventh and set a new E&H record.
