Emory & Henry Volleyball Defeats Ursinus, 3-1, Friday Afternoon At Knights Fall Classic

ASTON, Pa. – The Emory & Henry College Volleyball Team (12-8) opened play at the Knights Fall Classic Friday evening with a 3-1 (25-20, 23-25, 25-23, 25-23) win over Ursinus College (12-8) on the campus of Neumann University.

Sophomore outside hitter Tristen Pennington (Kingsport, Tenn.) led E&H with 14 kills and added 17 digs and three aces while sophomore outside hitter Ali Singleton (Mount Jackson, Va.) had 11 kills in the victory. Sophomore right side Hannah Doss (Meadowview, Va.) recorded 10 kills and 17 digs while sophomore Kennady Thomason (Chattanooga, Tenn.) had nine kills as well. 

Senior setter Maleah Neely (Hillsville, Va.) dished out 43 assists and registered 12 digs to complete the double-double while sophomore libero Emily Hinshaw (Boone, N.C.) notched 24 digs.

As a team, Emory & Henry hit .229 (54-19-153) for the match and added 10 service aces and four blocks.

Emory & Henry will return to the court on Saturday morning at 11:00 a.m. when it faces off against the host Neumann Knights. The Wasps will take on Rutgers University-Camden at 3:00 p.m.
