Emory & Henry Volleyball Sweeps West Virginia Tech, 3-0, To Conclude Regular Season

MONTGOMERY, W.Va. – The Emory & Henry College Volleyball Team (18-11) picked up a 3-0 (25-15, 22-16, 25-23) win over West Virginia University Tech (7-26) Saturday afternoon in the team's final match of the regular season.

E&H finishes the regular season with its most wins since a pair of 20-win seasons in 2008 and 2009.

Sophomore right side hitter Hannah Doss (Meadowview, Va.) notched nine kills and seven digs while sophomore outside hitter Tristen Pennington (Kingsport, Tenn.) tallied eight kills and five digs in the match. Senior setter Maleah Neely (Hillsville, Va.) dished-out 22 assists and added nine digs and two aces.

Sophomore middle Kennady Thomason (Chattanooga, Tenn.) had four kills and five blocks. Freshman libero Rachel Peters (Gate City, Va.) registered seven digs and added three service aces while senior defensive specialist Kelsey Marrs (Wytheville, Va.) had five digs in the  match.

The Wasps' next contest will be in the quarterfinals of the 2014 Old Dominion Athletic Conference Tournament on Wednesday evening. Emory & Henry will take to the road after earning a bid in the league's postseason tournament for the 22nd-straight year.
