FOREST, Va. – After finishing in a tie for sixth place during the 2014 Old Dominion Athletic Conference regular season, the Emory & Henry College Volleyball Team has earned the #7 seed for the 2013 ODAC Tournament. The WildCats of Randolph College are seeded sixth thanks to their 3-1 win over the Wasps on October 18. The Wasps were picked to finish in seventh place this season by the league's head coaches.

E&H (18-11, 6-5 ODAC) will make the long trip across the Commonwealth for its quarterfinal matchup against the second-seeded Marlins of Virginia Wesleyan College (23-9, 9-2 ODAC) on Wednesday evening at 5:30 p.m., at The Batten Center.

In the regular season meeting between Emory & Henry and Virginia Wesleyan on Saturday, September 20, the Marlins earned a 3-1 (18-25, 25-22, 25-17, 25-22) victory at the John Rutledge King Center.

Sophomore outside hitter Tristen Pennington (Kingsport, Tenn.) had a team-high 12 kills and added 17 digs to complete the double-double. Sophomore right side hitter Hannah Doss (Meadowview, Va.) tallied 11 kills and 14 digs for a double-double of her own.

Sophomore middle Kennady Thomason (Chattanooga, Tenn.) posted seven kills and six blocks while senior middle Anika Constantinescu (Surrey, British Columbia, CANADA) added eight kills and six blocks. Senior setter Maleah Neely (Hillsville, Va.) dished out 36 assists and had 14 digs while sophomore libero Emily Hinshaw (Boone, N.C.) notched 10 digs.

Virginia Wesleyan attacked at just a .118 (47-28-161) mark for the match compared to a .171 (42-21-140) clip for E&H. The Marlins had 10 service aces to the Wasps' five, but were out-blocked 12-5 by the Emory & Henry front.

The winner of Wednesday's quarterfinal matchup will advance to the league's final four, which will be played on Saturday on the campus of the highest remaining seed. Either sixth-seeded Randolph or #3 Washington and Lee University will await the winner of the Wasps and Marlins.

The other half of the bracket features top-seeded Randolph-Macon College against Shenandoah University and #4 Lynchburg College versus Roanoke College.
