Randolph-Macon Volleyball Handles Emory & Henry, 3-0, Saturday Afternoon

ASHLAND, Va. – The Randolph-Macon College Volleyball Team (18-4, 10-0 ODAC) remained unbeaten against Old Dominion Athletic Conference opponents as it earned a 3-0 (25-12, 25-18, 25-22) win against Emory & Henry College (5-21, 2-8 ODAC) Saturday afternoon. The Yellow Jackets are receiving votes in the AVCA Division III Poll and are just outside of the Top 25 rankings.

How It Happened
- RMC opened the match with a 9-1 run, pushing its advantage to 18-8 midway through the set. The Wasps scored three in a row to make it 19-12, but the Yellow Jackets closed the frame with six straight to go up 1-0 in the match.
- The squads traded runs early to an 11-10 Randolph-Macon lead. The Yellow Jackets then scored five of the next six for a 16-11 advantage and got six of the stanza's final 10 points for a 25-18 win and a 2-0 advantage.
-  Emory & Henry pushed out to a 6-3 lead early in the third set but a 6-0 run by RMC a few points later flipped the momentum for a 12-8 Yellow Jacket advantage.  Emory & Henry scored seven of the next eight to retake the lead, 15-13, and after five in a row by Randolph-Macon scored six of the next seven to go up, 21-19. The Wasps ran out of fuel, however as the Yellow Jackets scored six of the next seven to take the set and the match.

Emory & Henry Individual Leaders
- Senior outside hitter Ali Singleton (Mount Jackson, Va.) led the Wasps offensively with seven kills and posted nine digs while junior right-side hitter Tori Holmberg (Wake Forest, N.C.) added six kills.
- Junior middle Megan Stitzer (Chesterfield, Va.) had five kills while junior setter Sam McCauley (Glade Spring, Va.) notched 19 assists, two aces and nine digs.
- Sophomore libero Lauren Coolidge (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) added a team-high 12 digs.

Randolph-Macon Individual Leaders
- Mariah Clark notched 12 kills and two blocks while Alexia Wolfe added 10 kills.
- Erin Quinn registered 10 assists and seven digs while Samantha Sallade put up 20 digs and eight assists.

Up Next
- Emory & Henry will return home for its final ODAC match of the year Wednesday against Guilford College.
- First serve between the Wasps and Quakers will be at 7:00 p.m.
