DANBURY, Conn. – The Emory & Henry College Volleyball Team has seen one of its own honored by the ECAC as junior right-side hitter Carley Williams (Bristol, Tenn.) was named ECAC Division II Volleyball Player of the Month for October.

The award comes as part of the College's partnership with the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference which provides additional opportunities for recognition and competition during the Wasps' process of reclassifying to NCAA Division II.

Williams led Emory & Henry to an 8-3 overall record October as she reached double figures in kills in nine of the team's 11 matches, hitting .300 or better six times. She also had at least three blocks in five matches.

For the month, Williams hit an even .300 with 143 kills, adding 25 blocks for 156.5 points. She averaged 3.4 kills, and 0.6 blocks per set.

Founded in 1938, the ECAC has more than 200 member schools across all three NCAA Divisions, stretching from Maine to Georgia to Missouri. Its mission is to enhance the experience of student-athletes participating in intercollegiate athletics, and provide great value for universities and colleges, by sponsoring championships, leagues, bowl games, tournaments, and other competitions. Most of the ECAC's members also belong to another conference, which is often the school's primary conference.
