Emory & Henry Volleyball Faces Mars Hill And King Saturday Afternoon At Home

EMORY, Va. – The Emory & Henry College Volleyball Team (1-9, 1-3 SAC) dropped both ends of a doubleheader in hard-fought fashion on Saturday afternoon. The Wasps fell to Mars Hill University (7-0, 3-0 SAC) 3-1 in game one, before King (Tenn.) University (5-6) took the second half of the doubleheader by a 3-1 scoreline.

The Mars Hill Match
- Freshman outside hitter Julissa Hopgood (Lutz, Fla.) led the team with 13 kills while also contributing six digs. Junior right-side hitter Brianna Hogan (Front Royal, Va.) added 12 kills and two blocks.
- Sophomore outside hitter Camden Jones (Bristol, Va.) had 11 kills and led the team with 18 digs for the Wasps while freshman setter Payton Rolfsen (Fort Wayne, Ind.) registered 24 assists, nine digs and four kills. Sophomore setter Paige Halcrow (Oak Ridge, Tenn.) dished out 23 assists and had eight digs.
- Junior libero Libby Bickelhaupt (Fort Myers, Fla.) contributed 17 digs and an assist.

The King (Tenn.) Match
- Hopgood once again led the Wasps with 12 kills and two digs. Jones and Hogan each tallied nine kills and three digs.
- Rolfsen contributed 19 assists and 12 digs to go along with one kill while Halcrow added 20 assists, four digs and a block. Freshman right-side hitter Rylee Upton (Conover, N.C.) registered three kills, four blocks and a dig.
- Bickelhaupt recorded 12 digs, tying for a game-high for the Wasps.

- Emory & Henry will be back in action on Friday when they travel to Harrogate, Tennessee to take on South Atlantic Conference opponent Lincoln Memorial University. First serve is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
