Lincoln Memorial Volleyball Defeats Emory & Henry, 3-0, Friday In SAC Match

HARROGATE, Tenn. – The Emory & Henry College Volleyball Team (1-10, 1-4 SAC) fell on the road in South Atlantic Conference action on Friday to Lincoln Memorial University (4-8, 2-2 SAC). The Lady Railsplitters took the decision by scores of 25-21, 25-21, and 27-25.

How It Happened
- The two teams began the match with back-and-forth play that resulted in an even score at 15-15 midway through the first set. The Wasps gained a three point advantage before a Lincoln Memorial run evened things back up at 18-18. LMU won seven of the final ten points to take the opening frame by a score of 25-21.
- LMU picked up where they left off in the second, as they ran out to an 18-9 lead. E&H responded by winning eight of the next ten points to draw back within three. The Lady Railsplitters would rally to take the set by another 25-21 margin.
- The third set was another even battle that saw the score tied at 14-14 at the midpoint. The two squads continued to trade blows and remained all square at 20-20. Regulation was not enough in the third stanza as both teams remained tied at the 25 point mark, but LMU was able to right the ship to take the win 27-25.

Emory & Henry Individual Leaders
- Junior outside hitter Brianna Hogan (Front Royal, Va.) led the Wasps with 13 kills and three digs while sophomore Camden Jones (Bristol, Va.) recorded seven kills and 10 digs .
- Freshman setter Payton Rolfsen (Fort Wayne, Ind.) recorded a double-double with 15 assists and 12 digs as sophomore setter Paige Halcrow (Oak Ridge, Tenn.) went for 12 assists and three digs.
- Junior libero Libby Bickelhaupt (Fort Myers, Fla.) paced the squad with 10 digs and added four assists.

Lincoln Memorial Individual Leaders
- Ketura Margaret posted nine kills, one assist and one dig. Maggie Sanderson contributed seven kills, five digs and an assist in support.
- Amanda Lisi registered a match-high 26 assists to go along with five digs and a kill while MJ Trujillo led the team with 14 digs.

- Emory & Henry continues its road trip on Saturday, as it takes on the Lady Eagles of Carson-Newman University in a SAC showdown. First serve is scheduled for 5:00 p.m..
