Lenoir-Rhyne Volleyball Defeats Emory & Henry, 3-0, Friday Evening

HICKORY, N.C. – The Lenoir-Rhyne Women's Volleyball Team (9-4, 5-1 SAC) picked up a 3-0 South Atlantic Conference sweep over Emory & Henry College (1-12, 1-6 SAC) Friday evening. The Bears took the win by scores of 25-18, 25-13 and 25-17.

How It Happened
- The two teams traded blows early in the first set, as the score stood at 10-8 in favor of the Bears. Lenoir-Rhyne increased their lead to 20-14 through the middle part of the set and were able to maintain their advantage to the tune of a 25-18 score in the first stanza.
- LR started the second set on the front foot, running out to a ten-point advantage at 18-8. The Bears would maintain their lead to take the set by a score of 25-13.
- The third set got off to an even start, with LR holding a narrow 11-10 lead. The Bears increased their advantage to six by the 20 point mark and held on to the lead to take set three 25-17.

Emory & Henry Individual Leaders
- Sophomore outside hitter Camden Jones (Bristol, Va.) posted 12 kills and eight digs to lead the Wasps, while freshman outside hitter Julissa Hopgood (Lutz, Fla.) contributed four kills, five digs and a block.
- Freshman setter Payton Rolfsen (Fort Wayne, Ind.) registered 15 assists and five digs as sophomore setter Paige Halcrow (Oak Ridge, Tenn.) added 12 assists and nine digs.
- Junior libero Libby Bickelhaupt (Fort Myers, Fla.) led the team with 10 digs and added an assist.

Lenoir-Rhyne Individual Leaders
- Emmaleigh Allen had nine kills, three digs and two assists, while Colette Romp added eight kills, four digs and three blocks.
- Bailey Carpenter registered nine digs to lead the Lady Bears and Mackenzie Hulsey had a match-high 23 assists to go along with five digs and two kills.

- Emory & Henry continues its weekend road trip Saturday with a non-conference match against Southern Wesleyan University in Central, South Carolina. First serve is scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
