Anderson Volleyball Defeats Emory & Henry, 3-0, In Friday SAC Action

ANDERSON, S.C. – The Anderson (S.C.) University Volleyball Team (14-4, 8-3 SAC) defeated Emory & Henry College (2-17, 2-9 SAC) by a 3-0 score on Friday evening in South Atlantic Conference action. The Trojans won the  match by scores of 25-17, 25-17 and 25-12.

How It Happened
- The Trojans took the first lead in the opening set as they established a 14-9 advantage, forcing an E&H timeout. The two squads would trade points through the middle of the set and the score stood at 20-15. Anderson (S.C.) took control in the latter stages of the set to win the opener 25-17.

- E&H jumped out to the early 4-1 lead but the Trojans would respond and held a 10-6 advantage. Anderson (S.C.) would extend their lead to 19-13, leading to a Wasps timeout. The Trojans closed out the back end of the second stanza and took the set by another 25-17 scoreline.

- Anderson was once again the first team to 10 points and held the 10-4 lead. The Trojans dominated the remainder of the third frame to take the set and the match by a score of 25-12.

 Emory & Henry Individual Leaders
- Freshman outside hitter Julissa Hopgood (Lutz, Fla.) contributed six kills, three digs and a block while sophomore outside hitter Camden Jones (Bristol, Va.)  had four kills, five digs and two service aces.

- Freshman setter/right-side hitter Payton Rolfsen (Fort Wayne, Ind.) had a team-high 13 assists and a dig in addition to sophomore setter Paige Halcrow (Oak Ridge, Tenn.) with eight assists and five digs.

- Junior libero Libby Bickelhaupt (Fort Myers, Fla.) had a team-high seven digs and added an assist.

Anderson (S.C.) Individual Leaders
- Noelle Knutsen led the Trojans with seven kills and a block while Meg Sansbury contributed five kills, five digs and three assists.

- Jenna Long recorded a match-high 22 assists in addition to her two kills and three digs.
