How It Happened
- The opening set was a tight affair in the opening stages as the teams traded blows and the score stood all level at 13-13 and once more at 18-18. The Warriors won four of the following six points to establish a narrow two-point advantage. The Wasps closed the deficit to just one, but SWU took the final three points of the first stanza to jump ahead 1-0.
- The second frame started similarly to the first as neither team could find any breathing room and the score was all square again at 10-10. E&H closed within five at 21-16, but again the visitors closed out the set with four consecutive points to increase their lead out to 2-0.
- E&H was the aggressor at the beginning of the third set as the Wasps took a 16-12 lead at the midpoint. The Warriors would not go away in the decisive stanza as they mounted another rally to tie the match and nudge ahead 20-19. The Wasps battled back and reached set point at 24-22, but again three consecutive from SWU flipped the script and gave the Warriors their first match point of the night. E&H continued to battle as they fought off a pair of match points, but SWU was too much on the night as they completed the sweep 28-26.
