Ella Maiden is entering her first year as Assistant Volleyball Coach at Emory & Henry University. She joins the staff after an extremely successful playing career at Milligan University. 

Maiden was one of the most decorated players in Buffaloes’ recent history as she was named to the All-Appalachian Athletic Conference First Team all four years on campus and set program records in both total blocks (517) and career hitting percentage (.336). Her accolades also include being named to the 2021 All-AAC Freshman Team, being named the AVCA Northeast Region Defensive Player of the Year for the 2023 season and a member of the AVCA Northeast Region All-Region First Team her final three seasons. Maiden was also a 2022 NAIA All-American Honorable Mention and 2023 NAIA All-American Second Team selection. 

She graduated from Milligan in the spring of 2025 with a degree in Business Administration with a minor in humanities while being named to the Dean’s List all four years. Prior to her collegiate career, Maiden was a standout multi-sport athlete at nearby Patrick Henry High School. She helped lead the Rebels to multiple state championships in both volleyball and track and field while winning the 2021 Pappy Thompson Award for her success as an athlete and in the classroom. 

Maiden is a native of Damascus, Virginia and enjoys spending time with her parents Steven and Billie Maiden, as well as her sisters Avery and Elaina. Her hobbies include being outside playing volleyball, Spikeball and other outdoor activities with her friends and family.
