Emory & Henry Women’s Wrestling Takes Seventh At The Adrian Open Sunday

ADRIAN, Mich. – The Emory & Henry College Women's Wrestling Team competed in its first-ever open tournament on Sunday, competing in the Adrian Open, hosted by Adrian College. The Wasps finished seventh out of 21 competing teams as all three competing wrestlers finished in the top eight of their weight class.

123-Pound Weight Class
- Freshman Dafne Aguilar Martinez (Pharr, Texas) finished seventh, rebounding after an opening bout loss to win four straight including a pair of falls in 2:03 and 2:29. She defeated Morgan Bethea of University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point in her final match of the day.

130-Pound Weight Class
- Freshman MaryAnne Walker (Manchester, Tenn.) won by fall (0:38) in her opening round pairing to advance in the winners' bracket. She also picked up a victory by fall in 1:55 in the consolation bracket, beating Stevens Point's Addison Young on her way to a sixth-place finish.

191-Pound Weight Class
- Junior Andreia Langley (Chilhowie, Va.) went 1-2 in pool play to get the day started. She won both of her finals matches by fall in 1:16 and 0:39, respectively to capture fifth over Kinora Hayes of Hiram College.

- Emory & Henry will be back in action on Wednesday, December 1 when it hosts St. Andrews University in a doubleheader with the Wasps' men's team.
