Emory & Henry Women’s Wrestling Takes Fifth At Home Tournament Saturday

EMORY, Va. – The Emory & Henry College Women's Wrestling Team closed out the first half of its season on Saturday with a fifth-place finish at the Wasps Women's Open. All three E&H wrestlers finished in the top four of their respective weight classes.

123-Pound Weight Class
- Freshman Dafne Aguilar Martinez (Pharr, Texas) took fourth place at 123 pounds, earning a 14-6 win over Caroline Schmitt of Limestone University.

130-Pound Weight Class
- Freshman MaryAnne Walker (Manchester, Tenn.) was third in her class, competing against Hannah Mains of Limestone and Greensboro College's Isabela Ruiz.

191-Pound Weight Class
- Junior Andreia Langley (Chilhowie, Va.) opened the day with three falls, beating St. Andrews University's Elisa Holley (5:26), Gabrielle Mendoza of Ferrum College (1:25), and Limestone's Journey Bass (1:48). She added a 10-0 win by technical superiority against LU's Destiny Baltierra.

- Emory & Henry will return to action after Winter Break at the NCWA/USMC Multi-Division National Dual Championships on Thursday, January 6 and Friday, January 7. The event will take place at the Kentucky International Convention Center in Louisville.
