Emory & Henry Women’s Wrestling Takes Sixth At NCWWC Southeast Region Championship

FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga. – The Emory & Henry College Women's Wrestling Team took sixth in its first-ever appearance at the NCWWC Southeast Region Championships on Saturday.

123-Pound Weight Class
Freshman Dafne Aguilar Martinez (Pharr, Texas) opened the meet with a loss by pin to Melanie Mendoza of King (Tenn.) University. In her first consolation match, she defeated Annika Lindberg of Emmanuel in 2:57 by fall.

A loss by fall (1:25) to Ariana Wolkerstorfer of Greensboro College put Aguilar in the sixth-place match where she lost to Limestone University's Caroline Schmitt in 3:58 to finish seventh.

191-Pound Weight Class
Junior Andreia Langley (Chilhowie, Va.) faced off against King's Nia Crossdale in the semifinals, losing by technical superiority. She took third place with a forfeit win over Cristina Santoyo of Emmanuel.

Emory & Henry will await the announcement of the selections for the NCWWC National Championships. The national championship meet will take place on Friday, March 4 and Saturday, March 5 in Adrian, Michigan.
