EMORY, Va. – The Emory & Henry College Women's Wrestling Team hosted the second-annual Wasps Open on Sunday at Bob Johnson Court. The Wasps finished fourth out of 12 competing teams earning four top-four finishes on the day.

123-Pound Weight Class
- Freshman Alanna Jennings (Ashland, Va.) went 1-3 in pool play, defeating Brook Hermel of University of Mount Olive via injury in the first period. She also faced third-ranked Vayle-Rae Baker of King (Tenn.) University and NAIA No. 20 Tonya Flourory from St. Andrews University.
- In the placement round, Jennings took seventh dropping a match to Emmanuel (Ga.) College's Dorothy Gerrell in 1:32.
130-Pound Weight Class
- Sophomore Dafne Aguilar Martinez (Pharr, Texas) went 2-3 on the day to finish fourth. She pinned Sydnie Durham from The Apprentice School in 23 seconds.
- Freshman Ava Thomas (Stafford, Va.) took fifth dropping Durham in 16 seconds for the fastest pin of the tournament.
- In their matchup with one another, Aguilar Martinez defeated Thomas by a 20-17 margin. The pair also took on No. 2 Montana Delawder of King.
155-Pound Weight Class
- Senior Andreia Langley (Chilhowie, Va.) placed third, as she earned all three of her wins by fall. She defeated Isabella Badon of Presbyterian College (:21), University of Mount Olive's Isabella Kessey (:55) and Jordan Wilson from Ferrum (2:08).
- Langley lost to NAIA No. 6 Latifa McBryde and the NAIA 13th-ranked Gabrielle Holloway.
170-Pound Weight Class
- Freshman Eryn Hubble (Leesburg, Va.) went 1-1 in pool play to earn the second seed, pinning Raya Sessoms from The Apprentice School in 1:44. She also took on King's Tiffany Baublitz, the No. 4 155-pound wrestler in the country. Hubble fell in her semifinal match to No. 2 Chey Bowman of King before bouncing back to claim third place with a pin of Emma Diaz of Life University (3:56).
- Freshman Ella Tallent (Dandridge, Tenn.) earned the third seed in pool play with a 1-2 record, earning an 8-4 decision against Aleksandra Bieszczad from Mount Olive. She completed the tournament with a fifth-place finish, beating Sessoms in 45 seconds.
191-Pound Weight Class
- Freshman Brittney Reed (Sandston, Va.) dropped her opening bout of the day 12-2 to Jada Arnold of Mount Olive by technical superiority. Reed exited the tournament following her first bout due to injury, finishing fourth.
