Emory & Henry Women’s Wrestling Opens The Spring At Tornado Open Sunday

BRISTOL, Tenn. – The Emory & Henry College Women's Wrestling Team resumed action on Sunday at the Tornado Open, hosted by King (Tenn.) University.

130-Pound Weight Class
- Sophomore Dafne Aguilar Martinez (Pharr, Texas) won her first bout of the day by fall in 2:45 before losing in the semifinals to No. 3 Montana Delawder of King. In the consolation rounds, Aguilar beat Abigail Geairn by technical superiority, 10-0, before losing in the third-place bout by fall (2:33) to Emmanuel (Ga.) College's Evelyn Vazquez.
-  Freshman Ava Thomas (Stafford, Va.) advanced to the semifinals defeating Geairn 12-2 for a technical superiority win. She exited the tournament following one bout due to illness.

155-Pound Weight Class
- Senior Andreia Langley (Chilhowie, Va.) opened the day with a 27-second pin of Adrian College's Elisa Cox. She fell in the semifinals to Taylor Cutler of Adrian (1:25) and to Megan Vondrasek – also from Adrian – in 2:29 to tie for fifth.

170-Pound Weight Class
- Freshman Eryn Hubble (Leesburg, Va.) lost by technical superiority (10-0) to Alexandria Alli of Wyoming Seminary. She also dropped her consolation round matchup to Limestone University's Journey Land by fall (1:37) to tie for seventh.

191-Pound Weight Class
- Freshman Brittney Reed (Sandston, Va.) went 1-2 in round-robin action to finish third. She defeated Adrian's Yamilex Perez in 5:19. Reed also suffered a 5-4 defeat by decision to Christina Santoyo of Emmanuel and lost by fall to Rewa Chababo of University of the Ozarks.
