No. 24 Emory & Henry Women’s Wrestling Wins Twice At Home Thursday Afternoon

EMORY, Va. – The T-No. 24 Emory & Henry College Women's Wrestling Team (3-0) grabbed a pair of dual meet wins over Southern Virginia University and Bluefield State University on Thursday afternoon at the John Rutledge King Center.

The Wasps defeated the Knights by a 31-19 margin to start the event and beat the Big Blue by a 38-11 scoreline to close out action.

The Southern Virginia Match
- Emory & Henry opened the match with a 20-10 lead due to unfilled weight classes.
- At 155 pounds, freshman Molly Keller (Fairlawn, Va.) earned a win by fall in 51 seconds
- Fifth-year Andreia Langley (Chilhowie, Va.) completed the match, pinning her opponent in 2:25.

The Bluefield State Match
- The Wasps again got things started ahead 20-10 because of unfilled weight classes.
- Freshman Natalia Sanchez (Powhatan, Va.) grabbed a win by pin in just 18 seconds at 116 pounds while freshman Madison Wilson (Henrico, Va.) won 10-0 by technical superiority (1:32) at 123 pounds.
- Keller got her second victory of the day at 155, besting her opposition in 2:38 while Langley closed out the match with a 14-2 technical superiority win at 170 pounds.
