Emory & Henry Women’s Wrestling Takes Ninth At Eagle Madness Saturday

MARIETTA, Ga. – The Emory & Henry College Women's Wrestling Team competed in its first open tournament of the year on Saturday, tying for ninth place at Eagle Madness, hosted by Life University.

101-Pound Weight Class
- Freshman Mallory Howard (Millington, Tenn.) lost her quarterfinal bout by technical superiority and exited the event after losing in the consolation round of four by fall in 1:06.

116-Pound Weight Class
- Freshman Natalia Sanchez (Powhatan, Va.) suffered a defeat by fall in the round of 16 (0:56) and lost by technical superiority in the second consolation round.

123-Pound Weight Class
- Freshman Madison Wilson (Henrico, Va.) fell by technical superiority in the round of 16. She progressed through the second consolation round with a 10-0 win in just 49 seconds before losing out by fall (1:39) in the third consolation round.

130-Pound Weight Class
- Sophomore Ava Thomas (Stafford, Va.) put up an 11-6 win by decision to get things started but was forced to exit the event early due to injury.

155-Pound Weight Class
- Freshman Molly Keller (Fairlawn, Va.) won her first match by technical superiority, 12-0, in 3:41 before dropping to the consolation bracket after a loss by superiority. She earned three straight wins by fall in 2:49, 0:47, and 1:20, respectively to find herself in the third-place bout. She claimed third in the event after her opponent was unable to continue due to injury.
- Freshman Mackenzie Robinson (Spotsylvania, Va.) got things started with a 10-0 win in 4:50 but moved to the consolation bracket after losing by fall in 1:02. She concluded the tournament after losing by fall (1:46) in the second consolation round.

170-Pound Weight Class
- Fifth-year Andreia Langley (Chilhowie, Va.) lost by technical superiority to start the day but got on the winning track in the first consolation round, earning a victory by fall in 2:08. She lost out in the second consolation round by fall (2:12).
- Freshman Natalie Giocondo (Dumfries, Va.) went 0-2 on the day, losing by technical superiority and by fall (1:01).

191-Pound Weight Class
- Sophomore Eryn Hubble (Leesburg, Va.) received a bye to the quarterfinals, winning by fall in 2:36. She suffered a loss by fall in the semifinals and ended the event tied for fifth after a defeat in the consolation semifinals by fall (1:22).
- Sophomore Ella Tallent (Dandridge, Tenn.) lost both of her bouts by fall in 0:26 and 1:43, respectively.
