Emory & Henry Women’s Wrestling Fells Lincoln Memorial 26-18, Wednesday In Home Finale

EMORY, Va. – The Emory & Henry College Women's Wrestling Team (8-4) assured itself of a winning dual match record as it picked up a 26-18 win over Lincoln Memorial University Wednesday evening.

The Match
- The match began tied at 15-15 as both squads earned three wins by forfeit. The Wasps saw hands raised at 109 (freshman Haley Viars (King William, Va.)), 170 (sophomore Katie Gakin (Aberdeen, Wash.)) and 191 (sophomore Eryn Hubble (Leesburg, Va.)).
- At 130 pounds, freshman Madison Wilson (Henrico, Va.) picked up a win by fall over Calista Gibson in 2:31.
- The 136-pound bout saw sophomore Ava Thomas (Stafford, Va.) drop a thrilling contest by decision to Stephanie Castro. After six minutes of action, the score was tied, 7-7, but Castro was declared the winner thanks to the highest-scoring action of the bout, a four-point takedown late in the first period.
- The Wasps sealed the victory at 155 pounds as freshman Molly Keller (Fairlawn, Va.) dispatched LMU's Jenna Blinkewicz in just 35 seconds.
