Emory & Henry Women’s Wrestling Competes At Frostburg Bobcat Open Sunday

FROSTBURG, Md. – The Emory & Henry College Women's Wrestling Team concluded the regular season at the Frostburg Bobcat Open on Sunday.

109-Pound Weight Class
- Freshman Haley Viars (King William, Va.) lost in the quarterfinals by fall and exited the tournament in the second consolation round with a 10-0 technical superiority loss to Giavanna Ablonsky from Emmanuel (Ga.) University.

130-Pound Weight Class
- Sophomore Ava Thomas (Stafford, Va.) suffered a 10-0 defeat in her first bout of the day but responded to win in 1:12 over Hailey Berry from Elmira College in the consolation bracket. She battled Gabby Bradigan, also of Elmira, for more than five minutes, but lost by fall (5:05.).

143-Pound Weight Class
- Junior Skie Roulo (Chesterfield, Va.) got things started with a pin of Elmira's Ellanora Bode in 1:49. She dropped to the consolation bracket after an 11-0 loss to Maddie Kubicki (Presbyterian). She added a pin of Olivia Wojtusik from New England College (1:11) before concluding action after being pinned by D'Youville University's Alessandra Elliott in 1:04.

155-Pound Weight Class
- Freshman Molly Keller (Fairlawn, Va.) picked up a first-round win by pin over Cypress Holmes from Liberty before suffering a 10-0 defeat to Cheyenne Bowman of King University, 10-0. Keller moved through the consolation bracket with three straight wins by fall over Mackenzie Yates (Liberty; 1:40), Erin Martin (Tiffin University; 1:29) and Skylah Chakouian (Elmira; 2:23). She finished fourth in the tournament with a no-contest result in the third-place bout.
- Freshman Mak Robinson (Spotsylvania, Va.) went 0-2 on the day, losing her opening-round bout by fall and her first consolation round contest by technical superiority, 12-0.

170-Pound Weight Class
- Sophomore Katie Gakin (Aberdeen, Wash.) dropped her first matchup of the day in 28 seconds to Love Daley from Sacred Heart University. She grabbed a pin of Hazel Dahlquist from Elmira (1:01) before losing to Alyssa Arana from Emmanuel, 8-2.

191-Pound Weight Class
- Sophomore Brittney Reed (Sandston, Va.) placed second going, 3-1 on the day. She started things off with a 5-4 win against Sacred Heart's Jacklyn Smith. She then tallied a pair of pins against Felicia Smith from East Stroudsburg University (2:28) and Tayana Labady of Elmira (3:00). Reed's only loss of the tournament was a 6-2 decision to Ella Beam of Presbyterian College.

- Emory & Henry has concluded the regular season and will next compete at the NCWWC Southeast Region Championships on Friday, February 23. Emmanuel (Ga.) University will serve as this year's regional host.
