
BRISTOL, Tenn. – The Emory & Henry University Women's Wrestling Team kept the season rolling on Sunday as it competed at the Tornado Open. The Wasps saw four of their nine competing wrestlers finish fourth on the day.

117-Pound Weight Class
Sophomore Natalia Sanchez (Powhatan, Va.) won her first-round bout by fall (2:34) over Rodiat Adeduntan and advanced to the semifinals with an 11-1 technical superiority win against Audrey Smith from Lindsey Wilson.
In the semis, she lost to Angie Alvarado in 1:12 to drop to the consolation semifinals. Sanchez beat Adeduntan by fall (3:43) to advance to the third-place bout, losing to Jaia Ashley from Schreiner in 1:51 to place fourth.
124-Pound Weight Class
Sophomore Madison Wilson (Henrico, Va.) opened her tournament with a pin of Dylan Hernandez from Cumberlands (Ky.) in 3:27. She lost in the quarterfinals to Trinity Howard, 13-2, and exited the event after a fall to Campbellsville's Josie Davis in 3:37.
138-Pound Weight Class
Sophomore Mak Robinson (Spotsylvania, Va.) lost her first bout of the day to Jennifer Soto (0:29) and was defeated, 10-0 by Isabella Hill in the consolation bracket.
Freshman Alex Costello (Johnson City, Tenn.) lost a 4-1 decision to Caden Collett of Huntingdon and exited the tournament after a 4-2 defeat to Judea Higgins-Morris of Campbellsville.
145-Pound Weight Class
Sophomore Molly Keller (Fairlawn, Va.) picked up a 10-0 technical superiority win over Uriah Peters-Gutierrez to start the day but dropped to the consolation bracket after being defeated, 4-1 by Gianna Dibenedetto from Emmanuel (Ga.).
Keller won back-to-back bouts by fall over Alivia Ming from Cumberlands (1:15) and Kendra Heroch of Emmanuel (3:16) before topping Aalijah Pineda from Emmanuel, 10-0, to reach the third-place bout. She claimed fourth in the tournament, falling to Jocelyn Yepez from Emmanuel in 1:01.
Sophomore Natalie Giocondo (Dumfries, Va.) lost to Pineda in 18 seconds to start her day and was pinned in 22 seconds by Ming.
160-Pound Weight Class
Senior Skie Rice (Chesterfield, Va.) pinned Emma Stephenson from Huntingdon in 1:47 to start the day but lost in the quarterfinals to Ariel Maicon by technical superiority, 14-3. In the consolation bracket, Rice won three straight by fall, beating Rebecca Dayo from Campbellsville (1:01), Campbellsville's Kylee Tait (2:37) and Sawyer Ward (2:59). She finished fourth in the tournament by no contest.
180-Pound Weight Class
Junior Ella Tallent (Dandridge, Tenn.) opened the day with a win by fall over Lexiana Garcia (0:54). She lost to Frostburg State's Jada Arnold in 2:59 and fell to Maria Hiles from Frostburg State by a 10-0 technical fall.
207-Pound Weight Class
Senior Emma Lozada (Princeton, Texas) lost her quarterfinal bout to Brianna Staebler from Campbellsville in 1:14. In the third consolation round, Lozada beat Natalie Espinoza from Schreiner in 59 seconds and topped Mount Olive's Andrea Smith by injury default in 1:07. Lozada finished fourth in the tournament, losing to Jocelyn Cacek in 4:24.
