Emory & Henry Women’s Cross Country Finishes Eighth At Fleet Feet Invitational Saturday

SALISBURY, N.C. – The Emory & Henry College Men's & Women's Cross Country kicked off the 2022 season at the Fleet Feet Invitational on Saturday. The women's team took eighth out of 14 competing schools, while the men were 10th out of 12 squads. 

The meet served as the preview for this fall's South Atlantic Conference Championship, as Catawba College is set to host at Salisbury Community Park.

The Men – 8K (4.97 miles)
- Freshman Samuel Tindall (Fort Defiance, Va.) ran a 30:22, leading the Wasps while fellow freshman Miles Baldwin (Willis, Va.) clocked a 30:23.
- Freshman Logan Choplin (Manassas, Va.) and sophomore Aaron Wilson (Chester, Va.) went 31:29 and 31:43, respectively as freshman Tommy Henzey, IV (Salem, Va.) posted a time of 31:45.
- Catawba's Erick Ramirez was the individual winner with a time of 25:34, besting his nearest competitor by 23 seconds.
- Fellow South Atlantic Conference member Wingate University took home the team victory.

The Women – 5K (3.14 miles)
- Freshman Delaney Eller (Salem, Va.) posted a 22:03 as she earned a 40th place finish amongst the 122 competitors, while senior Laken Crockett (Woodlawn, Va.) finished in 47th place with a time of 22:23.
- Junior Annalyse McHone (Shawsville, Va.) and freshman Elise McKinney (Church Hill, Tenn.) posted nearly identical times of 23:01.0 and 23:01.2, respectively to take home 59th and 60th place.
- Catawba won the team title, placing three runners in the top four. Wingate's Gemma Rebollo won individual honors with a time of 18:35.
