Emory & Henry Women's Cross Country Finishes 13th At The South Atlantic Conference Championships Saturday

SALISBURY, N.C. – The Emory & Henry College Men's & Women's Cross Country Teams closed out the 2022 season at the South Atlantic Conference Cross Country Championships on Saturday. The men's team took eighth out of 13 competing schools, while the women were 13th out of 13 squads.

The Men – 8K (4.97 miles)
- Freshman  Miles Baldwin (Willis, Va.) ran a 29:29.6, leading the Wasps in 58th place while fellow freshman Samuel Tindall (Fort Defiance, Va.) clocked a 29:50.1 and a 61st place finish.
- Freshman Tommy Henzey, IV (Salem, Va.) posted a time of 30:28.0 for 65th and freshman Willie Burns, Jr. (Woodbridge, Va.) finished in 77th place with a 32:12.1. Freshman Logan Choplin (Manassas, Va.) rounded out the top five for E&H at 32:23.7 and 79th place.
- Wingate University's Soheil Boufrizi was the individual winner with a time of 25:22.6.
- Wingate took home the team victory with six of the top eight finishers.

The Women – 5K (3.14 miles)
- Freshman Elise McKinney (Church Hill, Tenn.) posted a 27:56.3 as she earned a 63rd place finish, while senior Laken Crockett (Woodlawn, Va.) finished in 68th place with a time of 28:10.3 and was closely followed in 69th place by junior Annalyse McHone (Shawsville, Va.) who clocked a 28:12.4.
- Freshman Sydney Bonney (Bristol, Va.) and junior Madeline Bishop (Collinsville, Va.) finished in times of 30:34.2 and 31:03.6 respectively.
- Catawba's Madison Clay was the victorious individual runner, posting a time of 21:58.7.
- Wingate won the team title with four runners amongst the top seven finishers.
