ROCK HILL, S.C. – The Emory & Henry College Women's Cross Country Team has been selected 13th in a poll by head coaches of the South Atlantic Conference, league officials announced Thursday.

With 11 members of the team this fall, E&H has its largest women's cross country roster in more than a decade. Four returners make way for seven newcomers, each of whom will push to make the Wasps competitive in the conference standings.

Additionally, the SAC has announced its Runners to Watch list. Sophomore Delaney Eller (Salem, Va.) and freshmen Jessi Looney (Vansant, Va.) and Trinity Neff (Grottoes, Va.) represent Emory & Henry.

E&H has its first opportunity to compete on Friday, September 1, at the EMU Heritage Invitational, hosted by Eastern Mennonite University. The Wasps travel to South Carolina on Saturday, September 16 for the Converse Invitational at Milliken Research Park.

The midway point of the season will be the NCAA Division II Southeast Region Preview, hosted by University of North Georgia on Saturday, September 30 in Oakwood, Georgia. Emory & Henry returns to the Commonwealth on Friday, October 13, competing at the Roanoke Invitational at Green Hill Park in Salem.

The 2023 SAC Championships will be hosted by Lenoir-Rhyne University at Southside Park in Newton, North Carolina on Saturday, October 21.

Wingate University received the maximum number of points and 12 first-place votes and tops the poll. Catawba College is second with the final top nod while Anderson (S.C.) University and Lenoir-Rhyne University make up the top four.
