Emory & Henry Men’s Track & Field Finishes Ninth At Thursday’s SAC Outdoor Championships

ANDERSON, S.C. – The Emory & Henry College Men's Track & Field Team wrapped up competition at the 2023 South Atlantic Conference Outdoor Championships with a ninth-place finish on Thursday. Building off their first-ever SAC individual champion on Wednesday, the Wasps saw three program records fall during Thursday's competition.

Thursday's Action
- Event 11 – 5,000-Meter Run – Freshman Miles Baldwin (Willis, Va.) smashed the program record by over 11 seconds with a time of 16:17.89 to finish 24th. Sophomore Aaron Wilson (Chester, Va.) was 25th with his 16:24.83 while freshman Tommy Henzey, IV (Salem, Va.) was 32nd with his posted time of 18:02.32. Fifth-year Lucas Biggerstaff (Knoxville, Tenn.) took 34th with a 18:37.88.
- Event 21 – 4 X 100-Meter Relay – The team of sophomores Zedrick Yeboah (Fredericksburg, Va.), Willie Williams (Manassas, Va.), Hayden Oglesby (Virginia Beach, Va.) and freshman Chase Perkins (Virginia Beach, Va.) finished tenth with a time of 43.74.
- Event 23 – 4 X 400-Meter Relay – The team of Yeboah, Oglesby and freshmen Cody Pecina (Saltville, Va.) and T.J. Pecina (Saltville, Va.) broke the program record with a time of 3:26.04, good enough for tenth.
- Event 33 – Shot Put – Sophomore Zavery Wallace (Buena Vista, Va.) took home ninth with his recorded distance of 13.42 meters.
- Event 35 – Discus Throw – Sophomore Gavin Lee (North Tazewell, Va.) was fourth as he launched a throw of 45.92 meters. Wallace finished in 10th place after recording a distance of 38.72 meters.
