FOREST, Va. – The Emory & Henry College Men's Cross Country Team has been picked to finish 10th at the 2013 Old Dominion Athletic Conference Championships, ODAC officials announced Monday. The poll was conducted through a vote of the league's 11 head coaches.

Emory & Henry returns two of its top five runners from last year's squad that finished in 10th place. Sophomore Nathan Fishell (Richmond, Va.) finished second on the team at the 2012 ODAC meet and was selected as E&H's Most Outstanding Runner. Sophomore Will Leigh (Hamilton, Va.) improved significantly in the off-season and will be counted on as a big contributor this fall.

Under second-year Head Coach Tom Antenucci, the Wasps welcome a class of three freshmen that will make an immediate impact in the ODAC. Kevin Watts (Stafford, Va.) comes to E&H from Mountain View High School where he was a five-time all-disctrict and two-time all-region selection. Watts was also named all-state and also helped lead his team to a state championship.

Also joining the team for E&H are Alex Cooper (Christiansburg, Va.) and Jackson Feezell (Gastonia, N.C.). Cooper was a twice named all-district, leading Christiansburg HS to a third-place finish in the VHSL AA State Championship. Feezell was a two-time all-conference honoree at Forestview High School and also had a successful prep career in track & field.

Bridgewater College is the favorite to win the ODAC title after receiving eight first-place votes. Lynchburg College, a perennial powerhouse, is second with the other three top nods. Guilford College, Washington and Lee University and Roanoke College round out the top five.

Emory & Henry will begin the 2013 season on Friday evening when it competes in the ODAC Preview Meet at The Manor Golf Club in Farmville, Va. The teams will take the starting gun at 6:00 p.m.
