DANBURY, Conn. – The Emory & Henry College Men's Cross Country Team has seen one of its own honored by the ECAC as senior Conor White (Warrenton, Va.) was named ECAC Men's Cross Country Runner of the Month for September.

The award comes as part of the College's new partnership with the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference which provides additional opportunities for recognition and competition during the Wasps' process of reclassifying to NCAA Division II.

White led the Wasps in all three of their September races, earning a pair of top-five finishes in the process. He also posted personal-best times on two occasions.

In the season-opener at the EMU Heritage Invitational (Sept. 3), White took third overall with a time of 16:43 over 5K. He followed that up with a 57th-place finish in the Converse Kick Off on September 18, which served as the de facto region preview meet for NCAA Division II and Division III. He covered that 8K course in 27:41.

White completed the month as the runner-up at the Hornet Harrier Invitational, hosted by Shenandoah University on September 25. He posted a 6K time of 19:15 which beat the Emory & Henry record in that distance by 1:55.

Founded in 1938, the ECAC has more than 200 member schools across all three NCAA Divisions, stretching from Maine to Georgia to Missouri. Its mission is to enhance the experience of student-athletes participating in intercollegiate athletics, and provide great value for universities and colleges, by sponsoring championships, leagues, bowl games, tournaments, and other competitions. Most of the ECAC's members also belong to another conference, which is often the school's primary conference.
