Six Records Fall For Emory & Henry Track & Field At Finn Pincus Invitational Saturday

SALEM, Va. – The Emory & Henry College Track & Field Teams continued their season over the weekend at Roanoke College's Finn Pincus Invitational. A total of six records were set on Saturday, with four men's records falling and two new marks put up for the women's team.

Top Men's Performances
- Senior Trel Phillips (Ooltewah, Tenn.) set a new record in the shot put with a throw of 14.75 meters to finish fourth. He also competed in the weight throw (10.77m/38th).
- Freshman Donovan Pinnix (Eden, N.C.) and senior Justin Fannon (Abingdon, Va.) both posted top-10s in the shot as well as Pinnix was eighth (14.14m) and Fannon was 10th (13.62m).
- Junior Conor White (Warrenton, Va.) broke his own record in the mile, going a 4:43.31 while junior Jackson Kaze (Midlothian, Va.) dropped his record in the 3,000 meters by 6.71 seconds, clocking a 9:45.55 to take 22nd.
- In the 200 meters, sophomore Jay Kreimes (Sharps, Va.) set a new record with a 24th-place finish, stopping the watches in :23.72.
- The Wasps' 4x400 meter relay finished third with a time of 3:47.49.

Women's Top Performances
- Sophomore Yasmin Thorpe (Mount Airy, Md.) established the Emory & Henry mark in the 400 meters, covering the distance in 1:16.56 while coming up just short of a new record in the 200 meters (:31.40).
- Sophomore Lorin Zehr (Holly Pond, Va.) continued her improvement in the weight throw, breaking her record for the second week in a row with a throw of 11.16 meters. She has increased the E&H-best by 1.72 meters in the past two meets.
- Freshman Taylor Mixon (Chilhowie, Va.) posted a 21st-place finish in the 600 meters at 2:13.03.
