Emory & Henry Track & Field Competes At JDL Last Chance Invitational Saturday

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Emory & Henry College Indoor Track & Field Teams competed in their final meet of the regular season on Saturday at JDL Fast Track. The Wasps posted eight top-10 finishes on the day.

Top Men's Performances
- Sophomore Will Humphrey, II (Charlotte, N.C.) finished seventh in the preliminaries of the 60 meters at 7.00 seconds and was eighth in the finals, running a 7.04 seconds. Freshman Jackson Swanson (Salem, Va.) placed 16th in the prelims at :7.09.
- Redshirt freshman Barlowe Branch, III (Petersburg, Va.) was fifth in the 200 meters with a time of 23.22 seconds. He also placed 10th in the long jump at 6.19 meters.
- In the mile, freshman Davis Norman (Salem, Va.)was 18th overall, stopping the watches in 4:34.17. Freshman Aidan Trautman (Centreville, Md.) crossed the line in 16:13.92 in the 5,000 meters.
- In the 60-meter hurdles, freshman Nour Nabi (Lake Ridge, Va.) qualified for the finals and took eighth at :9.09. Freshman Joshua Black (Woodbridge, Va.) placed 10th in 9.47 seconds while freshman Joseph Ihlenburg (Roanoke, Va.) was 13th (9.79 seconds).
- Freshman Drew Craft (Covington, Va.) was 11th in the triple jump at 12.20 metes and 19th in the long jump (5.46 m). Ihlenburg was third in the triple jump at 12.11 meters. Junior Zadok Laryea (Ruther Glen, Va.) had a mark of 12.85 meters in the shot put, placing 14th.

Women's Top Performances
- Junior Michelle Diaz (Woodbridge, Va.) broke her own program record in the 200 meters, running a 27.94 to finish seventh. She was also eighth in the 400 meters at 1:06.94 while junior Chloe Jones (Harrison, Tenn.).
- In the 800 meters, freshman Sonya Wagner (Afton, Tenn.) was 10th (2:32.55), freshman McKenzie Tate (Wytheville, Va.) was 14th (2:33.79), and freshman Maya Turner (Midland, Va.) was 20th (2:42.49).
- Freshman Adrianna Hall (Salem, Va.) was placed 19th in the 60-meter hurdles at 11.67 seconds.
- Sophomore Catie Leonard (Gray, Tenn.) took 17th in the weight throw with a mark of 10.37 meters with sophomore Taylorann Cash (Buena Vista, Va.) also placing 17th in the shot put at 10.31 meters. Freshman Ella Knight (Graham, N.C.) leaped 4.20 meters in the long jump which was good for 17th.

- Emory & Henry will compete at the South Atlantic Conference Championships on Saturday, February 24 and Sunday, February 25. The meet will talk place at JDL Fast Track.
