Emory & Henry Women’s Track & Field Finishes Third At Cole Piper Open Saturday

MARYVILLE, Tenn. – The Emory & Henry College Outdoor Track & Field Teams had their final regular-season meet on Saturday, competing at Maryville (Tenn.) College's Cole Piper Open. Both squads finished third as the men's team won four events and broke three records while the women won one event and also broke a school-best mark.

Top Men's Performances
- Freshman Hillis Roberson, IV (Rosenburg, Texas) won the 400 meters with a school record time of :50.37 while freshman Heath Bowker (Salem, Va.) and junior Aaron Wilson (Chester, Va.) took second and third, respectively.
- Sophomore Will Humphrey, II (Charlotte, N.C.) broke his own record in the 100 meters twice on the day, going a 10.88 seconds in the preliminaries and finishing second in the finals with a 10.86 seconds.
- Sophomore Tyrique Taylor (Christiansburg, Va.) won the shot put with a throw of 14.66 meters and was the runner-up in the discus with a school-record mark of 46.69 meters.
- Freshman Drew Craft (Covington, Va.) won the long jump (6.68m) and the triple jump (13.15m) while also taking third in the high jump (1.75m).
- Freshman Joseph Ihlenburg (Roanoke, Va.) was second in the high jump at 1.80 meters and was fifth in the 200 meters (:24.52) and the long jump (5.99 m).
- Sophomore Miles Baldwin (Willis, Va.) was third in the 1,500 meters at 4:08.65 as freshman Caeden Bowker (Salem, Va.) placed fourth.
- Sophomore Samuel Tindall (Fort Defiance, Va.) placed fourth in the 800 meters with a time of 1:58.19 while freshman Joshua Black (Woodbridge, Va.) was fourth in the 110-meter hurdles (:16.92).

Women's Top Performances
- Freshman Kennedy Harris (Mineral, Va.) won the 800 meters, crossing the line in 2:18.14 while freshmen McKenzie Tate (Wytheville, Va.) and Maya Turner (Midland, Va.) were fourth and fifth in the race.
- Junior Avery Word (Fincastle, Va.) broke the E&H record in the discus with a throw of 33.06 meters to finish fifth.
- Junior Michelle Diaz (Woodbridge, Va.) was the runner-up in the 200 meters (:27.62) and placed fourth in the 100 meters at 13.61 seconds.
- Sophomore Scarlett Eversley (Dumfries, Va.) took second place in the triple jump with a mark of 10.25 meters and was fifth in the 100 meters.
- Freshman Adrianna Hall (Salem, Va.) placed second in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 19.98 seconds while freshman Ella Knight (Graham, N.C.) was fifth in the long jump 4.59 meters.
- Senior Michaela Fiscus (Rural Retreat, Va.) was the runner-up in the javelin (26.05m) as her sister, freshman Maddy Fiscus (Rural Retreat, Va.) was third in the 1,500 meters (20:51.11).
