FOREST, Va. –  The Emory & Henry College Volleyball Team has earned the seventh seed for the 2011 Old Dominion Athletic Conference Tournament, ODAC officials announced recently. E&H finished tied for sixth with Guilford College in the league regular season, but the Quakers won the tie-breaker with their head-to-head victory over the Wasps.

Emory & Henry (14-12, 5-5 ODAC) will take on second-seeded Randolph-Macon College (20-5, 9-1 ODAC) in Ashland, Va., on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. The Wasps will be looking to avenge an early-season loss to the Yellow Jackets and reach the league semifinals for the first time since 2001.

In the regular season meeting Randolph-Macon picked up a 3-0 (25-17, 25-13, 25-17) victory over Emory & Henry on Saturday, September 17.

Mallory Carter led the way for R-MC with 17 kills hitting .308 (17-5-39) on the day while Jessica Sears had nine kills of her own. Bailey Troia led all players with 28 assists and Marli Dabareiner had eight digs.

Emory & Henry was led offensively by junior outside hitter Jamie Cockerham (Galax, Va.) with six kills while junior outside hitter Morgan Grant (Abingdon, Va.) and junior middle hitter Kimmie Caudill (Galax, Va.) each had five kills apiece. Sophomore setter Fallon Davis (Mooresville, N.C.) had 14 assists while senior defensive specialist Selena Trichel (Hilton Head, S.C.) registered a match-high nine digs.

ODAC tournament action begins Wednesday with four quarterfinal matchups at the higher seeds.  The event continues on Saturday, November 5, with semifinal contests in the morning followed by the conference championship match in the afternoon at the highest remaining seed after the quarterfinals.
