Andreia Langley Finishes Tied For Ninth At NCWWC National Championships

ADRIAN, Mich. – The Emory & Henry College Women's Wrestling Team's inaugural season concluded over the weekend with a strong showing at the NCWWC National Championships. Junior Andreia Langley (Chilhowie, Va.) finished tied for ninth at 191 pounds as the Wasps made their presence known on the national stage in their first year of existence.

Langley qualified for the National Championships after finishing third at the 191-pound weight class in the Southeast Region. She entered the tournament in the second round, facing No. 2 ranked Jacycee Foller of McKendree University.

Foller came away with a victory over Langley by fall in 52 seconds, sending her into the consolation bracket.

In the third consolation round, Langley earned her first win at the national level, defeating North Central College's Amber Latta in 3:25 by fall. Langley saw her tournament come to an end in the first consolation semifinal round as she was pinned by Katja Osteen from Simon Frazier University (0:13).

Langley completed the tournament one round away from achieving All-America status, finishing tied for ninth place.
