Emory & Henry Cross Country Competes At Greensboro Cross Country Invitational Saturday

PLEASANT GARDEN, N.C. – The Emory & Henry College Men's & Women's Cross Country Teams continued their seasons at the 36th Annual Greensboro Cross Country Invitational Saturday morning.

The Men – 8K (5 miles)
- Junior Conor White (Warrenton, Va.) led all Division III runners, taking eighth overall in 28:47. He was 37 seconds clear of the next DIII competitor.
-  Sophomore Lucas Biggerstaff (Knoxville, Tenn.) was 40th (32:55) while freshman James Guthrie (Dublin, Va.) took 49th in 33:23.
- Senior Colt Pierce (Lockhart, Texas) rounded out the field for E&H, finishing 72nd overall at 41:55.

The Women – 5K (3.1 miles)
- Junior Alette McGuire (Chesapeake, Va.) finished seventh overall and first among NCAA Division III runners with a time of 21:40, finishing 59 seconds ahead of the second DIII runner.
- Senior Erica Grupp (Charlottesville, Va.) was the number eight Division III runner and 34th overall as she stopped the watches in 25:35.

- Emory & Henry will continue the 2019 season at the Royals Cross Country Challenge on Friday, October 11. The meet, hosted by Queens (N.C.) University, will be held at McAlpine Creek Park.
