Emory & Henry Track & Field Sets Five Records At COROS Collegiate Challenge Sunday

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Emory & Henry College Indoor Track & Field Teams traveled to Winston-Salem, North Carolina for the COROS Collegiate Challenge on Sunday. The women's squad smashed three program bests, while the men's team broke two program records of its own.

Top Men's Performances
- Sophomore Zavery Wallace (Buena Vista, Va.) earned a fifth-place finish in the shot put with his toss of 13.29 meters and followed it up with eighth place in the weight throw (15.41m). Fellow sophomore Gavin Lee (North Tazewell, Va.), finished sixth in the shot put (13.04m) and sixth in the weight throw with a distance of 15.55 meters.
- Sophomore Zedrick Yeboah (Fredericksburg, Va.) picked up a tenth-place finish in the 200 meters with his time of :23.50. Freshman Cody Pecina (Saltville, Va.) also placed tenth in the 400 meters, posting a :54.92.
- Freshman Samuel Tindall (Fort Defiance, Va.) broke the program record in the 3000 meters, finishing 14th with a time of 9:24.14. Tindall was also the top E&H finisher in the 800 meters, as he earned seventh with his time of 2:02.05. Fellow classmates Miles Baldwin (Willis, Va.) and Logan Choplin (Manassas, Va.) were 12th (2:08.87) and 13th (2:08.95) respectively.
- Senior Colby Martin (Fork Union, Va.) finished eighth in the triple jump and broke his own program record for the second time in as many weeks with a distance of 12.63 meters.

Women's Top Performances
- Freshman Madison Ricketts (Kingsport, Tenn.) once again broke the program record in the 400 meters with a 1:04.71, good enough for an eighth-place finish. Sophomore Michelle Diaz (Woodbridge, Va.) took 14th with her 1:07.76.
- Sophomore Kinna Magette (Courtland, Va.) placed 19th in the 800 meters with her 2:55.85. Freshman Delaney Eller (Salem, Va.) finished 14th in the 1000 meters with a time of 3:23.78.
- Freshman Alyssa Chappell (Church Hill, Tenn.) posted program records with a 14th-place finish in the long jump (4.37m) and 12th place in the triple jump (9.39m).
- Freshman Taylorann Cash (Buena Vista, Va.) finished 21st in the weight throw with a 10.65 meters while sophomore Avery Word (Fincastle, Va.) took 22nd with her distance of 10.48 meters. In the shot put, freshman Madison Osborne (Glade Spring, Va.) finished 23rd with a toss of 8.73 meters and classmate Catie Leonard (Gray, Tenn.) was 26th with her 8.19 meters throw.
