Emory & Henry Track & Field Sees More Records Fall At LR Bears Invitational Friday

HICKORY, N.C. – The Emory & Henry College Outdoor Track & Field Teams competed at the LR Bears Invitational hosted by fellow South Atlantic Conference institution Lenoir-Rhyne University on Friday. The men's team broke three program records while the women's squad also set two new program high marks.

Top Men's Performances
- Sophomore Zedrick Yeboah (Fredericksburg, Va.) broke his own program best in the 200 meters with a posted time of 22.67, good enough for 16th.
- Sophomore Hayden Oglesby (Virginia Beach, Va.) finished 20th in the 400 meters with his time of 51.39 while freshman T.J. Pecina (Saltville, Va.) was 21st with his 51.43.
- Freshman Aaron Wilson (Chester, Va.) set a new program record in the 800 meters as he stopped the clock at 1:58.12 to take home fifth. Freshman Samuel Tindall (Fort Defiance, Va.) was seventh with his 1:59.50.
- Sophomore Gavin Lee (North Tazewell, Va.) was victorious in the discus throw as he recorded a toss of 45.31 meters to take home the medalist honors. Lee was also first in the hammer throw as he smashed his own program record with a throw of 52.42 meters to earn the win. Sophomore Zavery Wallace (Buena Vista, Va.) was fifth in the hammer throw with a distance of 46.13 meters.

Women's Top Performances
- Freshman Madison Ricketts (Kingsport, Tenn.) was tenth in the 400 meters as she posted a time of 1:03.01.
- Sophomore Michelle Diaz (Woodbridge, Va.) finished 16th in the 200 meters with a time of 27.92 while freshman Scarlett Eversley (Dumfries, Va.) was 17th with a 28.18.
- Freshman Delaney Eller (Salem, Va.) picked up a ninth-place finish in the 800 meters with a posted time of 2:29.48.
- Diaz, Eversley, sophomore Chloe Jones (Harrison, Tenn.) and freshman Kylee Turman (Dublin, Va.) clocked a time of :52.88 in the 4x100 relay to take second, breaking the school record in the process.
- Freshman Madison Osborne (Glade Spring, Va.) placed 12th in the discus throw with her toss of 26.90 meters. Freshman Catie Leonard (Gray, Tenn.) was 14th with a 25.58-meter throw.
- Freshman Taylorann Cash (Buena Vista, Va.) broke her own program record in the shot put for the second time in as many weeks as she launched a throw of 10.23 meters to finish in tenth.
- Tuyrman broke her own record in the pole vault as she posted a height of 2.55 meters to finish tied for ninth.
